Los tubos de acero API 5CT L80 se suministran con conexiones roscadas y acopladas, disponibles en extremo liso, rosca redonda sin o con acople, rosca de contrafuerte con o sin acople, etc. El rango de tamaño es 114.35.21-50816,13 mm, incluidos tipos de rosca como BTC, LTC, STC, etc. La composición química requiere que el contenido de azufre y fósforo sea inferior al 0,030% cada uno y debe pasar la prueba de aplanamiento, la prueba de tracción y la prueba hidrostática. Se prohíben defectos como pliegues y grietas tanto en las superficies internas como externas de la carcasa. Los extremos roscados están equipados con protectores y el tratamiento de la superficie adopta un proceso de pintura en aerosol.
